The dual axis slew drive applied in dual axis solar tracking system allow for optimum solar energy levels due to their ability to follow the sun at any direaction. No matter where the sun is in the sky, it is able to angle themselves to be in direct contact with the sun. As it is exposed to wild environment, it must be water proof, sand proof and withstand wind load, snow load and rainstorm for 25-year field life. Sometimes, it also need to be working under huge temperature differences which is a big challenge to the surface coating, the sealing rubbers and also the lubricating grease.

Application

 

Tower CSP system(TSP)

The collector tower or central collector system of a tower CSP system utilizes sun-tracking mirrors called heliostats to focus sunlight onto a collector at the top of the tower. The heat transfer fluid is heated to approximately 600ºC in the collector and used to generate steam, which is then used to generate electricity in a conventional steam turbine. During this time, the slewing drive is required to rotate so that the mirror can capture the most solar heat, and this application requires better clearance and better stability of the slewing drive.
